Bundelkhand Art Society organized Manu International Women Art Exhibition on the occasion of International Women’s Day. The Society hosted this event in association with Govt. Museum Jhansi. from 6 to 8 March in the Art Gallery of Govt. Museum Jhansi (UP). It is free of cost opportunity for all International women artists to showcase their works at the International level.
Manu-The Power of Women”
Manu International Women Art Exhibition was only for women artists from around the globe. This unique event is for the women, by the women. In which, from organizing team to chief guest- all are females only. So, this is really a unique event for women having so many opportunities.
Bundelkhand Art Society hosted this event on the occasion of International Women’s Day. The Society is dedicating this entire program to Jhansi Ki Rani (Queen of Jhansi) Rani Laxmi Bai. However, her Childhood name-‘Manu’ is used as the title of this show. Infect, Manu is representing the whole womanhood.
About the show
The international event was inaugurated on 6 March 2020 at 2 pm onward. However, Dr. Sunita was the Chief Guest of this event. She was the Assistant Professor of the Fine Art department, Bundelkhand University Jhansi. Just after the inauguration, the medals and honors distribution ceremony took place.
On the same day, we also distributed the participation certificates to the women artists. Earlier, Sahiba Siddique explained the objective of Society. She described the whole event in her speech. While Priyanka Richhariya compared the whole program nicely. In the end, Meraj Fatima gave the vote of thanks.
International Women’s Day
Bundelkhand Art Society introduced this event as the first-ever program only for women. This program is totally free. So, we don’t take any charge from the women artists. The Society gave five Gold Medals to the best five entries in the show. Definitely, these medals will increase & motivate the artists. The gold medalist winners are:
- Sadhana Shukla (Bhopal)
- Praveena Mahicha (Ahmedabad)
- Anjali Prabhakar
- Shivangi Shrivastava
- Richa Rai (Datia)
Organising Team
Mrs. Mradula was the head of the organizing team. However, Meraj Khan and Anuradha Raikwar were her members of the team. So, they managed all the entire events.
While speaking to the media, Mridula Ji told that we received more than 200 entries across the world. Hence, this shows how much women artists are passionate about this event. We selected only the best 79 entries for the show. Two women artists from Latvia and one each from Brazile and Italy participated in this show.
Manu Awards of Honor
Bundelkhand Art Society celebrated International Women’s Day through this event. So, the society honored the three Manu Awards of Honor. These three awards are for the Women who have an extraordinary contribution in their respective fields. Thus, the Society selected these women for this honor:
- Neeti Shashtri (Educationist, Retd. Teacher & President Awardee)
- Archana Gupta (Politics & Educationist)
- Ranjana Gupta (International Shooter & Police Inspector in Crime Branch, Jhansi)
Closing Ceremony
The closing ceremony of this exhibition was on 8 March 2020 at 3 pm. In which the society celebrated International Women’s Day. The grand closing ceremony of this exhibition was colorful and musical under the presence of Special guest Tabbasum Bano.
The head of the organizing team Mradula Saxena welcomed all the guests. Celebrating Women’s Day, we honored Smt. Shahnaz Parveen as a senior woman. Artists were given away participation certificates. Mementos were distributed to the organizing team.
In this event Umar Khan, Mueen Akhtar, R K Khattri, Alakh Sahu, Kishan Soni, Uma Parashar, Parul Sosa, Shaila Siddique, Sheetal Soni, Anuradha, Meraj Khan, Shailendra, Dheeraj Khare, and Mayank. Priyanka Richhariya & Kamini Mishra conducted the program.
